This is a kind of heavy downpour in this monsoon season. The rain Gods may have failed to give relief to the farmers in the rural hinterland of the country, but movie buffs have been spoilt with options since the standoff between multiplexes and film producers has been resolved. After seven in the last week, five films were released this week, more than enough for the movie goers to satiate their appetite.

Three : Love, lies and betrayal came first as it hit the ticket counters a day ahead- jyotish and numerology playing a vital part in its pre-ponned release on Thursday. However, it proved a dumb squib at the box office as the script failed to click with the audience.

On Friday, four films were released, with Chintuji, Mohandas - A Man Lost in His Own Nation, Bachelor Party and Fox fighting to go one-up over another. Except for Chintuji which sprang a surprise with its beautiful narration, remaining four had a solid promotion strategy but haven't got good openings in the multiplexes. Music releases, wallpapers, exclusive premiers- film makers tried every trick in the book to make their respective movies, but initial results have not been encouraging. Bachelor Party, a comedy film, disappoints with its weak presentation. Mohan Das: A Man Lost in His Own Nation and Fox are from the same genre- thriller, but sadly, do not thrill much. With Fox, the suspense ends shortly after interval, and you are left with normal latka-jhatkas to contend with.

Mumbai Indians have one more fan following and praying hard for them to be in the semis. Actor Manoj Bajpayee is praying for the Sachin led Mumbai Indians so that they make it to the semi finals of the Indian Premier League.

Talking to IPLkhabar.com Manoj Bajpayee said, "I'm an ardent MI supporter and am emotionally attached to Mumbai as this city has given me everything I could have ever dreamed about. Also, MI has Sachin and in his presence it's impossible to support any other team." Among his other favorites come Rajasthan Royals and he has his reasons for supporting them. Manoj says, "Rajasthan Royals is my other favorite but this time the lady luck doesn't seem to be with them. I like Warne's team as the players are down to earth and get to play."........

Year 2007 proved to be a great experience for viewers. Now let's have a look at upcoming movies of 2008. Ashutosh Govarikar's "Jodha Akbar" is on the top in this list. Hritik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai starer "Jodha Akbar" is being awaited by movie bucks impatiently for quite a long time.

Ajay Devgan is going to hullabaloo on box office through his two movies this year, "Halla Bol" and "Sunday". Also, he'll be seen in entirely different role behind the camera in "You, Me & Hum" as a director. Stars like Akshay Kumar, Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapur and Anil Kapur are going to shine under the banner of Yashraj in probably its only film "Tashan" this year. King of Bollywood Shah Rukh Khan will be seen in "Bhootnath" in a guest appearance.

Our Sallu bhai is in mood to take the box office with storm this year. Salman Khan's fans will see him in "God Tussi Great Ho" with hot Priyanka Chopra and superstar of millennium Amitabh Bachchan. He's acting in Subhash Ghai's "Yuvaraj" and Boni Kapoor's "Wanted: Dead or Alive" too. Amir Khan's "Ghajni" will also be shown this year. Starlet Jiya Khan is enacting in this movie with Amir. Abhishek Bachchan's long awaited "Drona", "Sarkar Raj" and "Dilli 6" will buzz box office this year. Yet another big movie of year 2008 is "Singh is King" staring popular pair of Akshay Kumar and Katerina Kaif. Rakesh Roshan's "Crazy 4" and "Heraphir 4" will also be shown this year.

साल 2007 हिन्दी फ़िल्मों के शौक़ीनों के लिए काफ़ी अच्छा रहा है। आइए सरसरी नज़र डालते हैं उन फ़िल्मों पर, जो नए साल यानी कि 2008 में प्रदर्शित होने वाली हैं। इस सूची में सबसे ऊपर नाम आता है आशुतोष गोवारीकर की "जोधा अकबर" का। ऋतिक रोशन और ऐश्वर्या राय जैसे बड़े सितारों से सजी इस फ़िल्म का सभी को बेसब्री से इंतज़ार है।

2008 में अजय देवगन बॉक्स ऑफ़िस पर हल्ला बोलने वाले हैं अपनी दो फ़िल्मों "हल्ला बोल" और "संडे" के ज़रिए। साथ ही नए साल में अजय एक नए किरदार में भी नज़र आएंगे - निर्देशक के रूप में "यू मी और हम" में। सैफ़ अली ख़ान, अक्षय कुमार, करीना कपूर और अनिल कपूर अपना टशन दिखाएंगे यशराज की इस साल आने वाली इकलौती फ़िल्म "टशन" में। हरदिल-अज़ीज़ शाहरुख़ ख़ान बतौर मेहमान कलाकार दिखेंगे "भूतनाथ" में।

सल्लू भाई 2008 में धड़ाधड़ फ़िल्में देने के मूड में हैं। पहले तो सलमान ख़ान को दर्शक "गॉड तुस्सी ग्रेट हो" में अमिताभ बच्चन और प्रियंका चौपड़ा के साथ देखेंगे। उसके बाद वे सुभाष घई की "युवराज" और बोनी कपूर की "वाण्टेड: डेड ऑर अलाइव" में भी अपना जलवा बिखेरते नज़र आएंगे। आमिर ख़ान की फ़िल्म "गजनी" भी 2008 में प्रदर्शित हो सकती है, जिसमें उनके साथ नवोदित तारिका जिया ख़ान होंगी। अभिषेक बच्चन रामू की "सरकार राज" के अलावा "द्रोण" और "दिल्ली 6" में भी दिखाई देंगे। 2008 की एक और बड़ी फ़िल्म "सिंह इज़ किंग" है, जिसमें अक्षय कुमार और केटरीन कैफ़ की जोड़ी फिर दोहराई गई है। इन फ़िल्मों के अतिरिक्त "हेराफेरी 4" और राकेश रोशन की " क्रेज़ी 4" भी बड़े पर्दे पर धमाल मचा सकती हैं।

पार्टनर : नक़्ल के लिए भी होनी चाहिए अक़्ल

“नक़ल के लिए भी अक़ल होनी चाहिए” – यह बात बचपन में कई दफ़ा सुनी थी और डेविड धवन की नई फ़िल्म “पार्टनर” देखकर इस बात पर पूरी तरह यक़ीन भी हो गया। हालाँकि मुझे पूरी शंका थी कि हो-न-हो हमेशा की तरह एक और हॉलीवुड फ़िल्म का कचरा किया गया होगा, लेकिन फिर भी दोस्तों के कहने पर मैंने इसे देखने का ख़तरा मोल लिया और सिनेमा हॉल में पहुँच गया। हालाँकि गोविन्दा और सलमान ख़ान का अभिनय ठीक है, लेकिन “हिच” की अच्छी-ख़ासी कहानी को ख़ामख़्वाह में ज़बरदस्ती तोड़-मरोड़कर फ़िल्म की ऐसी-तैसी कर दी गई है।

“पार्टनर” में “हिच” के कई दृश्य जस-के-तस ले लिए गए हैं, लेकिन उन्हें इतने निष्प्रभावी तरीक़े से फ़िल्माया गया है कि मूल फ़िल्म के दृश्यों का जादुई असर ग़ायब हो गया है। हमेशा की तरह कहानी चोरी करते वक़्त पर्याप्त सावधानी भी नहीं बरती गई है, इसलिए कहानी में कहीं-कहीं लूपहोल रह गए हैं। हाँ, इतना ज़रूर है कि मेरे बाक़ी मित्रों को पिक्चर ठीक लगी, इसलिए अगर आपने मूल फ़िल्म नहीं देखी है तो आप इसे थोड़ी आसानी से देख सकते हैं। शायद दिमाग़ में अपने आप लगातार चलने वाली तुलना की वजह से मुझे यह फ़िल्म कुछ ज़्यादा ही बेकार लगी। तो बस इतना ही कहना कि यदि आपने “हिच” पहले से देख रखी है, तो “पार्टनर” क़तई न देखें।

हाल में मूल फ़िल्म की निर्माता कम्पनी ने इस फ़िल्म पर चोरी का इल्ज़ाम लगाते हुए मुक़दमा भी कर दिया है। बॉलीवुड में तो हॉलीवुड से चोरी करने का लम्बा इतिहास है, लेकिन यह अपनी तरह की पहली ही घटना है। शायद हॉलीवुड वाले भी इतनी घटिया नक़ल को बर्दाश्त नहीं कर सके।
