It was one of the more awaited films releasing this week, more so for the importance attached to number three (3) in the film. The promotion strategey surrounding it had paid off, creating a kind of hoopla. But Three : Love, Lies and Betrayal, thanks to its weak screenplay, apperas to lose that extra advantage, with its release pre-poned by a day.

'Three - Love, Lies, Betrayal' is all about the broken hearts of a couple and about a stranger making much use of it.

Mrs. Anjini Dutt (Nausheen Ali Sardar) is married to 'Rajeev Dutt (Aksay Kapoor) and they both stay in a place called purple lake. The movie narrates the happenings in a house between a wife, husband and a stranger.

Vikram Bhatt's storyline is far off with too many inconsistencies. Even the treatment leaves a lot to be desired. The pacing of the film might seem slow with just three characters central to the plot but the narrative comes to the point pretty soon. Vikram Bhatt's script isn't inventive or immaculate but refrains from being a pungent potboiler. There are inconsistencies in writing as the husband and wife fight over divorce in one scene and seem to have no issues in the subsequent. Or when Sanjay's love abruptly switches from Anjini to her assets!

Such inconsistencies and unnecessary deviations take the shin out of at least 'Three' credible performances, that of Akshay Kapoor, Nausheen Ali Sardar and Director Vishal Pandya. To be true, it betrays the trust it held over the audiences prior to its release with an agressive promotion.
