Abhishek Bachchan: The Gay Icon

After the exceptional success of ‘Dostana’ at the box-office worldwide, Abhishek Bachchan has no qualms in declaring that it’s a matter of pride for him that he is regarded as a gay icon by homosexuals.

He says, “I am very happy with that. Why should I be surprised and shocked? I think homosexuals are as human as anyone else. It’s a matter of great pride if I’m their icon,’’.

There were rumors that his father did not like Abhishek in the role. But Abhi clarifies, “why should he take offence? Not at all! The film is about homosexuality; ‘Dostana’ isn’t Brokeback Mountain. It was just a comedy. My whole family has throughout enjoyed it. Who doesn’t enjoy a good laugh? It’s a normal fun film. Aishwariya is very happy. It’s a big hit…. my second big hit of the year after Sarkar Raj”.

Presently Abhi is shooting in the jungles of Cochin for Mani Ratnam’s next flick “Ravan”. Abhishek has no time to enjoy the success of “Dostana”. He says, “of course we will have a party, when we get back. But at the moment, I am celebrating by doing more quality works”.

Abhishek Bachchan Fears stunts

Bollywood heartthrob Abhishek Bachchan is known for many things but definitely not for daring stunts. Junior AB is not doing his stunts for his upcoming flick Dilli 6 and the director has hired a body double to him from Hollywood for the dangerous life risking stunts.

It seems that superhero ‘Drona’ is not a khiladi. The stunts in the movie involve a lot of aerial stunts.

Abhishek and Soonam Kapoor are in lead roles for the film and are paired opposite to each other. Beside these two, other stars in the film are- Amitabh Bachchan, who is playing Abhi’s grandfather in the film; Waheeda Rehman, the grandmother; Rishi Kapoor, Om Puri, Divya Dutta, Atul Kulkarni and Tanvi Azmi. The film’s story is based on Chandni Chowk area of Delhi and the 6 used in the film’s title refers to the pin code of Chandni Chowk, which is 6.

“Chandni chowk to china” is directed by Nikhil Advani starring Akshay Kumar and Deepika Padukone in the lead roles. Mithun Chakraborty is also playing important role in the movie. According to sources fifty percent of the films story is based on Akshay Kumar’s real life. Deepika is playing double role in the film. It’s the first ever Bollywood Kungfu which takes you on a journey from Chandni Chowk to Beijing.

“Jako rakhe Saiyan mar sake na koi” this proverb has proved to be the destiny of Abhishek Bachchan. Abhishek had a narrow escape from delhi bomb blasts. On 13th Abhishek was in the town for some event and to shoot some part of his upcoming film –Dilli 6. Abhishek was on his way to cannaught place for the function when blasts at C.P took place. It was the jam packed traffic of delhi which played the role of a savior for his life and he is safe today.
Amitabh Bachchan sympathises with the innocent victims and writes in his blog:
Lives have been lost, innocent lives of loved ones. I have no words to express grief and sorrow at this. Nothing else comes through my mind except the horror of the incident. I am sad and deeply disturbed.
By God’s grace Abhishek is safe today but for them who have lost their dear ones in the blasts, we pray the almighty to give them strength and courage to cope up with the loss.

Abhishek Bachchan romanching Vidya Balan!!!

Before you guys start thinking about the real life of both the actors, I want to say that both Abhishekh and Vidya are doing a movie together in which both are the main lead.
Name of the movie is Pa.

After Cheeni kum, starring Amitabh Bachchan and Tabu, director R Balkrishnan will direct Bachchan once again in Pa. They will be joined by Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan.
The latest actor to join the cast is Vidya Balan.

The actress, who recently signed the movie, will play Abhishek's sweetheart. Tabu was earlier considered for the role but the makers felt that she would not suit the role.

While Amitabh has shared the silver screen with his son quite a few times, Jaya has starred with Abhishek only a couple of times before, only in the 2002 Bengali film Desh, and Yash Chopra's Laaga Chunari Mein Daag, last year.

Pa will go on floors next year, and is expected to release mid-2009.Well…. Abhi dear and Vidya darling ,we are waiting to watch your chemistry on screen.
