Ayesha Takia Weds
Ayesha Takia got married on 1st March, 2009 with her long time boyfriend and restaurateur Farhan Azmi in Colaba, South Mumbai. It was a simple, private ceremony with only near and dear ones invited. Many celebrities from Bollywood attended the reception on March 2.

Once upon the number one actress of Bollywood and the queen of millions of hearts ‘Manisha Koirala’ is now all set to tie the knot with her long time boyfriend Christopher Doris, a sports counselor, author and entrepreneur.
According to sources Manisha had some problems with her boyfriend but now they have sorted out all the issues and the actress is finally ready to get married.
Though she has a long list of friends from Bollywood, the actress clarifies that the wedding would be a low affair event and only few near and dear ones will be in her guest list.

It seems that the awards are raining on Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. After getting Padma Shree the green eyed Bollywood beauty Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has yet another award in her awards kitty. Aishwarya has recently been conferred by the French authorities to receive the prestigious French award, ‘Officer Dan Ordre Des Arts Et Des Lettres’ but unfortunately the actress has been unable to enjoy the awards due to her father’s (Krishna Raj Rai) bad health.
Recently Aishwarya had declared that she will not be receiving the award until her father gets in good health. The second highest civilian award is a big thing but Ash says that ‘it will be a glorious moment but not without my father’ and now since her father is well she has informed the French government to prepare for the ceremony.
Before Ash, the only person in Bollywood to receive this award is Shahrukh Khan and now it’s the lady’s turn to enjoy it.

The Badshah of Bollywood Shahrukh Khan is preparing for yet another surgery. Shahrukh has hurt his shoulder in December during the shoot of ‘Dulha Mil Gaya’. The shoulder ligament wore tore while running for an action scene during which Shahrukh fell hard on his arm. The doctor has advised him to go for the shoulder surgery without any delay. So, before leaving for Los Angeles for the shoot of Karan Johar’s ‘My Name Is Khan’ SRK has to go under this otherwise the situation may get worse.
But Shahrukh confirms that he has delayed the surgery since his home production ‘Billo Barber’ will be releasing on February 19th. The actor has previously been operated upon for his back and his knees.

In this movie Himesh will act opposite to popular Pakistani actress Mona Laizza. The story of this new musical love saga is written by Mahesh Bhatt. The movie is being shot in the simply beautiful and stunning locations around the globe.
The movie is already being hyped by saying that the storyline of ‘Kajraare’ is very similar to that of ‘Sadak’ in which Pooja has acted years ago opposite to Sanjay Dutt. This upcoming flick is an Indo-Pak love story and the director Pooja Bhatt is really excited about this project.

“Luck By Chance” is the story of a struggling actor Vikram Jaisingh (Farhan Akhtar) who comes to Mumbai to make a position for himself in the film industry with the help of his TV star friend Abhimanyu (Arjun Mathur) who facilitates him during his struggling days. While trying to navigate through the film industry he meets a junior actress Sona Mishra (Konkana Sen Sharma) and from then on his life changes forever.
Does he make it big? or his struggle defeat him is the plot of the movie which is set for a 30th January release. The movie has Hrithik Roshan in a brief role as a superstar and Rishi Kapoor as a Punjabi Producer. Dimple Kapadia, Juhi Chawla, Isha Sharvani and Sanjay Kapoor are in supporting roles. Basically it’s a film about the facts of film industry and the craze among youth to join it and hopes that are so big that sky is not the limit for them.
The music of the film is given by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy which is just superb and the lyrics are penned by non other than daddy Javed Akhtar. The film has been written and directed by Farhan’s sister Joya Akhtar.

The 60th year of Indian republic is a proud day for Bollywood. 26 Jan 2009, it’s a day when two immensely talented actors of Bollywood, Akshay Kumar and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan were awarded the top civilian honors, The Padma Shree. They awards were given by the government of India.

Danny Boyle’s directed and 4 Golden Globes Awards winner “Slumdog Millionaire” has got ten Oscar nominations across nine categories. The film based on the story of Mumbai slums has been nominated in Oscar for Best picture, Best Director, Best Adapted Screen Play, Best Cinematography, Best Film Editing, Best Original Score, best Original Song for O Saya and Jai Ho, Best sound Editing and Best Sound Mixing.
The film was released in November in US where it has already earned $40 million and setting new records in the Uk. The movie is based on career diplomat author Vikas Swarup’s novel “Q and A”.

The living legend and superstar of Bollywood Amitabh Bachchan relives the last 40 years of his journey in Indian Cinema with his new biography titled ‘Bachchanalia’is penned by eminent film journalist Bhawana Somaya. The biography is published by Neville Tuli, the father of Pioneerings arts institution Osina’s founded in the year 2000. The biography tells about Big B’s journey in the industry and also focuses on the evolution in Indian cinema along with anecdotes, trivia and snippets of a few of Bachchan’s popular films.
His family members including Abhishek and Aishwariya got together for releasing ‘Bachchanalia’ and Aamir was invited as the guest of honor to launch the book. Filmmaker Yash Chopra was the chief guest at the grand event. ‘Bachchanalia’ got launched in style on January 3, 2009 at Tata theatre. At event, Aamir was all praises for Big B and spoke in glowing terms about the superstar of millennium.
Well, it seems that with 'Bachchanalia', Amitabh has achieved yet another milestone in his career.
4 Nominations For 'Slumdog Millionaire' At Golden Globes Award
An anticipated, ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ has begged nominations in major categories at the Golden Globes, which are considers precursors to the Oscars. The film has already won three awards at the ‘British Independent Film’ awards namely Best Film, Best Director and The Most Promising Newcomer ‘Dev Patel’.
For the 2008 Golden Globe Awards, the film has been nominated for ‘Best Picture-Drama’, ‘Best Director’ for Boyle and ‘Best Screenplay’ for Simon Beaufoy and ‘Best Original Score’ for A.R Rahman, given by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association.
Shot in Mumbai, the film tells the story of a slum boy who goes on to take part in a quiz game show “Who wants To Be Millionaire?” and manages to win Rs. 20 Million. It is based on the book “Q and A” written by Indian author and diplomat Vikas Swarup. The film released in the US recently and has received both critical and commercial success. Beside Dev Patel other actors in the film are Freida Pinto, Anil Kapoor and Irrfan Khan.

For the very first time Bollywood Queen Katrina Kaif and the hot and happening Ranbir Kapoor are coming together for Rajkumar Santoshi’s directorial venture ‘Ajab Prem Ki Gajab Kahani’. Katrina Kaif recently got hit on the face by Ranbir Kapoor, of course unintentionally.
Kat was shooting with Ranbir on the sets of the movie in Madh Island where the duo were acting out a chase sequence where they were hounded by goons. The scene demanded Ranbir to turn around and hit one of the chasing goons. He did that but in the bargain hit Katrinas’s nose with his hand and the actress ended up with a bleeding nose. She was immediately given a first aid on the sets.
The actress was in great pain but realized that but it was unintentional, so she didn’t complain. Injured Kat confirmed the incident. Ranbir plays Prem, an innocent guy in the film and he will play two distinct characters in the movie similar to Charlie Chaplin and Raj Kapoor.
The film is gonna hit the box office soon this year.

Let’s start the talk of Aditya Chopra’s ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’ with its end. Don’t get anxious, I am not revealing the climax of the film. The story about, is after the climax. The film ends, but the pictures immerging on the screen after the movie, increases it’s TRP. Hundreds of audience in the theatre, stand up from their seats and enjoy it. So don’t miss to catch the full interest of the pictures running and the commentary by Surendra Sahni in Shahrukh’s voice. Well, before the film’s release Shahrukh Khan had said in many interviews that the film will remind the audience about Rishikesh Mukherjee. King Khan was true to some extent. Amid films with hogwash comedy, vulgar script, forced exposure of heroines, without reason kiss scenes, Aditya Chopra has served a very good and decent film. But it would take time for him to match the level of the legend Rishikesh Mukherjee. In comparison, the simplicity of films characters does not reach to the height of expectations and even at some places the film’s story doesn’t go very well. Beside this we can predict that the film is going to be a big hit on ticket window. A speck of film’s story is inspired by Golmaal. In that Amol Palekar changes his identity to save his job and here Shahrukh Khan change himself to get his wife’s love. The most interesting thing is that, the director of films like Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge and Mohabbatein has started this movie with Shahrukh Anushka’s marriage. After a compelled marriage a realist man working as a govt employee in a company named Punjab Power changes his individuality to get his wife’s love. In the whole story the girl finds herself hanging between her new love and her husband but at last she gets her fate, ‘her rab’. There are three key characters in the movie. Shahrukh as Surendra Sahni, Anushka as Tani and Vinay Pathak as Boby, imitating the character of hair-stylist Javed Habib. Though they are interesting in their roles but sometimes Sahrukh seems to be overacting a bit. Vinay Pathak has also overacted somewhere but still his comedy is thoroughly enjoyable and newcomer Anushka gets a really well etched character to perform and it despite being her first film, she comes across an absolute natural. Through her debut Anushka will taste the success of hit but to show her beautiful the team has done a lot of hard work. Salim-Sulaiman has given a wonderful music. Haule-haule and dance pe chance is already in the chartbuster but the big thing is that the director who has always seen music as the soul of a movie has not tried to put so many songs in the movie. However, what needs to be remembered is that Aditya Chopra has been one of the pioneers when it comes to song picturisation.The film is shot around the streets of Amritsar. After Dilwale and Mohabbatein, this film is surely going to be the directorial hetric for Aditya Chopra and Aditya camp has celebrated their hatric with the picturiastion of the number featuring Kajol, Rani, Bipasha, priety zinta and Lara with Shahrukh. Well, to compete with ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’ there is no other film on Box-office this week. You can probably go and watch this film once.
Priyanka Chopra is all set to present what no other Indian actress has ever presented on big screen. She is about to play twelve different characters in one film. This Bollywood bala has managed to score the opportunity to play multiple characters in her next flick ‘What’s Your Rashee?’. The movie will be based on Astrology. Priyanka’s co-star in ‘Love Story 2050’ Harman Baweja will star opposite to her.
‘What’s Your Raashee?’ is inspired from novel Kimball Ravenswood in which the author creates a wide display of characters and sets up some devilishly comical plots through the novel. The director Ashutosh Gowarikar who has mostly helmed realistic films is trying his hand at comedy for the first time.
2008 has been surely a special year for Farhan Akhtar as he captured the entire nation’s attention with his debut film “Rock On” as an actor. And now it’s a show time for him. His fans will get to see yet another avatar of Farhan as a talk show host.

He says, “I am very happy with that. Why should I be surprised and shocked? I think homosexuals are as human as anyone else. It’s a matter of great pride if I’m their icon,’’.
There were rumors that his father did not like Abhishek in the role. But Abhi clarifies, “why should he take offence? Not at all! The film is about homosexuality; ‘Dostana’ isn’t Brokeback Mountain. It was just a comedy. My whole family has throughout enjoyed it. Who doesn’t enjoy a good laugh? It’s a normal fun film. Aishwariya is very happy. It’s a big hit…. my second big hit of the year after Sarkar Raj”.
Presently Abhi is shooting in the jungles of Cochin for Mani Ratnam’s next flick “Ravan”. Abhishek has no time to enjoy the success of “Dostana”. He says, “of course we will have a party, when we get back. But at the moment, I am celebrating by doing more quality works”.

The glam doll of Bollywood Ayesha Takia’s wedding to long time boyfriend and restaurateur Farhan Azmi has been delayed due to terrorist attack on Mumbai on 26th November and now it has been put on hold till mid 2009 but a date has not been finalized as yet and it will be a fairly small and private affair whenever it happens. Ayesha and Farhan have been dating each other for nearly three years.
Ayesha is currently in Greece shooting a song for Boney Kapoor’s ‘Wanted Dead or Alive’. Ayesha said, “We are all shaken up by what happened in Mumbai and none of us are in the mood for any celebrations this year”. The mood is too depressing and solemn.
In the meanwhile, Ayesha is busy completing her schedules for last three projects Ahmed Khan’s ‘Pathsala’, Nagesh Kukunoor’s ‘Tasveer’ and Boney Kapoor’s ‘Wanted Dead or Alive’. The actress had already asked her producers that she won’t shoot in December, as she is planning to quit her acting career after tying the knot with Farhan.

The super-sexy and super-cool dude of Bollywood Hrithik Roshan has left no stone unturned for his home production ‘Kites’. Hrithik, who plays the character of a salsa teacher in Kites, is all set to move his body on a special song to be choreographed by US based choreographer Flexy Stu.
Flexy will be in India by the middle of December and will start working on the song and before final picturisation Hrithik will rehearse with him for five days to give the best possible shots.
This is not the first time for Hrithik to be choreographed by Flexy Stu. Flexy has done Hrithik’s choreography for a biscuit commercial after that Hrithik was so much impressed that he had even recommended Flexy for some of his other endorsements related to liquor and clothes. Hrithik is the person behind Flexy’s recommendation for the choreography in ‘Kites’.
Kangana Ranaut and Barbara Mori are playing opposite to Hrithik in the film. The film is slated to release in the summer of 2009 and due to dialogues being in Hindi, Spanish and Filipino; it will have subtitles in Hindi and English.
The buzz is that the courageous girl of Bollywood ‘Bipasha Basu’ has left the shooting of Rahul Dholakia’s “Lamhaa” mid way and flew back to Mumbai. Bipasha says that she was actually very much tensed about her security and safety in Kashmir. According to Bips the shooting of the film was getting repeatedly held up due to the huge crowds that would gather and demand the shooting to be stopped.
The unit of ‘Lamhaa’ had faced a lot of opposition in the state and their shooting was disrupted quite a few times; leadings Bipasha to declare that she did not feel safe enough. Also due to unfavorable situation Bips moved out of the Oberoi hotel where the entire unit was staying and shifted to an undisclosed location.
Things came to such a point that one day the actress suddenly left the shoot and packed her bags to return to Mumbai after a crowd watching the shoot went out of control. Though the situation improved a bit later on, Bipasha had by then already decided to leave Kashmir without informing anyone.
There have even been rumors that the film’s makers considered replacing Bips with Vidya Balan. But producer Bunty Walia is confident that Bipasha would complete the shoot in Kashmir and go back to the state in January next year when the next schedule will be held in the state.
Mumbai magazine ‘Cosmopolitan’ arranged an awards event named Cosmopolitan Fun, Fearless, Female Awards. Shahrukh Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, Bipasha Basu, Sushmita Sen made a sensuous appearance for the award show. “As the events of the terrorists attack unfolded in front of me, I did something for the first time and one that I had hoped never ever to be in a situation to do. Before retiring for the night, I pulled out my licensed .32 revolver loaded it and put it under my pillow, for a disturbed sleep”. The veteran actor said that for the first time in his life he slept with his loaded licensed revolver under his pillow.
Big B also writes in his blog “My pain has been the sight and plight of my innocent and vulnerable and completely insecure countrymen, facing the warmth of this terror attack. And my anger has been at the ineptitude of the authorities’ that have been ordained to look after us.
The actor said he was glued to the TV screen late on Wednesday night when security personnel battled the terrorists, who killed 125 people and injured 327 across the city.
He further says, he salutes people who have laid down their lives for us. I can only but salute them and respect their sincerity on the call of duty. Bachchan says, he bows before the spirit of Mumbai and wishes this spirit never ends.

The fire fighters were doing their best but my imagination was running wild and I was feeling helpless watching other people trapped in the rooms adjoining the fire.” Said Aamir.
Aamir also write, “When will these politicians realize and admit that terrorist have no religion. Terrorists are not Hindu or Muslim or Christian. They are not people of religion or God. They are people who have to be dealt with in that manner.

Life took a u-turn for him when he won the fifth season of MTV’s reality show ‘Roadies’. Ashutosh survived three evictions while he was in Bigg Boss house. Sizzling diva Shilpa Shetty is known to be a quiet person but finally she has proved it wrong and has slapped a fellow actor. “Welcome To Sajjanpur” is an upcoming comedy directed by Shyam Benegal with Shreyas Talpade and Amrita Rao in the lead roles. Initially the film was named as Mahadev Ka Sajjanpur but Shreyas insited to rename the name the film as Welcome to Sajjanpur. Shreyas is playing Mahadev in the film. Since the name Hari Puttar is too similar to “Harry Potter” Warner bros is taking legal action against the producer of the movie. Hari Puttar- a comedy of terrors has become terror for its makers. It is a story of a ten year old boy who moves to Britain with his family. The boy fights two criminals who are trying to steal a secret formula devised by his scientist father. Warner bros threatened to sue the makers of “Hari Puttar”. But producer Munish Purii has defended the movie saying that the movie has nothing common with ‘Harry Potter”. Munish said Hari is a common Indian name and puttar is a punjabi word which means son. The problem is just because of the accent. In the hearing Judge Reva Khetrapal saw the trailers and remarked that “this looks quite similar to Home alone” and now next hearing is on Monday. The film slated to release on 12th September.
